Other Lodging Options (priced separately from registration fee) Cabinettes There are six Cabinettes located just past the Conference Building. Each Cabinette is one room with two extra long twin beds, a mini-fridge and a night stand. The Cabinettes do not have bathrooms. The men’s and women’s bathrooms and showers are in the Conference Building – a very short walk away. The Cabinettes are insulated and heated. For cooling during the summer, we have situated them beneath mature trees, have provided plenty of cross-ventilation and have installed a very quiet exhaust fan. The beds are very comfortable and towels are provided.
The Cabinettes are intended as an economy housing option.
Shared Cabins The cabins all have full baths with unlimited hot water (from on-demand water heaters), vaulted natural pine ceilings, kitchenettes and private patio views of the Powell River. Tile floors are heated in the winter and cool in the summer for your comfort.
Many people report being able to sleep better than they ever do at home. Perhaps it’s the deep silence of the property or maybe it’s the lack of background electro-magnetic (EMF) waves that are said to be prevalent in big cities. Or maybe it’s just that the beds are comfy. (When you are sound asleep you won’t be worrying about the reason anyway.) To summarize: The cabins are rustic-looking on the outside; nice on the inside.
Private Cabins There are currently four earth-sheltered cabins at the Well Being Conference Center which are available for personal retreats, weekend getaways, quiet interludes from a busy world, or for just enjoying the peaceful and natural setting on the Powell River.
The earth sheltered cabins are sustainably constructed with local red oak board siding, with the rear half of the cabins embedded in the earth, and with a sod roof. (You might catch a glimpse of some deer or wild turkeys grazing on top of your cabin.)
